Question about wet agent when using stones

I was watching a video by side cut on edge tuning. They talk about using a wetting agent of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol. I would think it would make the stones/diamonds cut better and cleaner, but I am not sure. From what I have read and watched in video's some use it some do not.

Any thought pro or con?

If you like it what ratio of water to isopropyl do you use. Does the ratio really matter???

Thanks John

It is cutting fluid for a reason. In slow cutting it acts as a flushing agent to remove scarf (material cut) from the area to prevent clogging of the stones. In hand applications very rarely are you concerned about cooling.

The other things for great results is cut direction (particular with files) as can prevent or also eliminate burrs. The second is pressure as this effects cut and cutter life too little or too much can both cause issues.
