Had a Renault Encore in late 80s, but really that was made in Kenosha, Wi.

Purchased an 03 Volvo V70 for daughter to use at college, so she can work at the ski hill and travel back to the U.P.

$1500 with 193000 miles on it. Seems pretty solid. Some new tires and fluid changes and she's good to go.

Nice! Those LONG Volvo wagons are so good for hauling skis inside.

Does that vintage have the 5-cylinder turbo engine? Damn near indestructible.

$1,500?! You couldn't replace two of the OEM wheels for that. Hope she enjoys it!

The 2.4L LPT is a bulletproof motor. Volvo has some of the best seats in the business too.

2.5. Turbo it is with AWD. I hope it works well. Not many used in my area, but might try to find a non-wagon for wife. She wants a car instead of suburban.

Yeah, those are the 2.4T AWD wheels. Volvo changed thier AWD systems in either 03 or 04...I forget.

Sweet deal. Looks clean, your daughter will probably be able to put another 100000 miles on it, easily. I had 95 850 Turbo and put just over 350000 on it before it one day needed more in repair bills than it was worth. Loved the car though, we had it for 15 years. Red with buckskin leather interior. My wife still misses it.

I hope 25ish, but I don't know.

I won't see it until March now. :)
You will be lucky...just below that though. Oh, that motor runs fun on Regular, you do not need Premium.

Told the daughter to put Premium in it, because of no Ethanol and sub zero temps.

Anything over 20mpg would be a win for me. I drive trucks and suburban.

My wife drives a RAV4.....my 17 year old daughter drives a Subaru Forester.

So I guess as a family we are good....I’m the only one who drives “a piece of :poo:“.

I guess it’s time for me to get a Tundra.

I put 200,000 miles on a Volvo turbo five. Still running strong when I sold it.

Not bullet proof. Get the timing belt changed on schedule. Change the water pump, belt tensioners, and idlers at least every other timing belt. The turbo engine has an oil cooler in the radiator hot tank. (The transmission cooler is in the radiator cold tank.) Keep an eye on the condition of the oil hoses to the oil cooler. I had pin hole leaks in mine. The heat of the hot oil causes deterioration.

All that and regular maintenance, too. Transmission oil changes. Power steering fluid changes. Brake fluid changes. Radiator coolant changes. All the usual. 5W-40 engine oil in hot summers. 5W-30 or 0W-30 engine oil in cold winters.
