Even with the limited terrain, it looks like you still had fun.

Newbie here...When I learned to ski...a long time ago, they used the GLM method (Graduated Length Method). You started out on 100cm skis doing parallel turns and as you progressed you went up in ski length. I don't know why they went away from that.

No video today

Skied 18 runs

Started out terrible and out of balance, but righted the ship after a few runs and then headed to Deer Hollow which is a nice green run and a new one to me.

Did it 6 times, and each was better than the last except for the last which was after lunch.... the Wagyu Burger was fantastic.
The top 1/3 of Deer Hollow is a bit steep by my standards, but the bottom 2/3’s was awesome. I got progressively more comfortable on each of runs 2-5.

Not a huge improvement day, but there was some so it was a success.

Well.... I’m posting this here and not on the “Journey” thread as there is no journey today. At 8:05 CT last night I got the pain that all men dread... Kidney Stone!

Took a Vicodin at 8:12, that did not take the edge off so it was off to the hospital at 8:30. The Park City Intermountain Hospital was amazing, far better than we have become accustomed to in Florida.

Checked out about 1:40am and got back to the room about 2am.

No skiing for me today as the head is a bit fuzzy from all of the drugs and I would not want to fall and hurt someone else!

Besty and Lorenzzo are out there tearing up the double blues today. DV opened some more runs today, and Bandana opened (Yippie), so I will try it out tomorrow.

I hope you are feeling better Jay. Why do these things always happen away from home?

Thanks, I am a lot better today. Pain free, but not steady enough after all the meds last night to be comfortable to ski.

Good news is that I got to check out the local healthcare which was amazing compared to what we are used to in Florida. Gotta have good healthcare for our new home out here :yahoo:

Well, new home to be as we are buying a lot to build, but will be out here a fair amount during the process... and in all seasons.

Are you looking up in Summit County or down the hill?
